I love this publisher and I love this book. The publisher has so many excellent titles in the healthy eating genre. This particular book has a great philosophical section up front that makes the case for a vegan lifestyle. Everything she has to say is very logical. She also has many helpful tips. As more and more people have developed an interest in a more healthful eating regimen, books like this are in greater demand. Not all are very do-able or are filled with recipes that are either unpleasant tasting or too complex with too many ingredients that cannot be found anywhere. This book is far more practical and is filled with excellent recipes. We rated it our highest five hearts.

I own several bean specialty cookbooks and I must say this is the best in terms of ingredient availability, flexibility of recipes, and tastefulness. There is a nice variety of bean dishes. They are practical, easy to prepare, and palate pleasing. It is well organized, and the author speaks directly to the reader in a pleasant way. With the cost of animal protein sure to go up with the rising oil prices, beans are an excellent protein substitute. This should be in everyone’s cookbook library. We rated it five hearts for both its usefulness and its practicality.
